2007 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Sean Bignall is a 2008 OF with a 5'9'', 175 lb. frame from Brampton, ONT (Canada) who attends St. Augustine Secondary School. He was selected as a Top Prospect at this event, more so on ability and tools than performance. Bignall has a strong and compact build. He runs well and is an athletic player who has a chance to develop into a really strong D1 prospect and possibly even a pro prospect some day. He has strong and fast hands and a contact approach at the plate. He does have strength and good bat speed which will play out as some power in the future. Bignall had no trouble getting to velocity though he does need to make more consistent contact to develop into a top of the order hitter, which he is capable of doing. Defensively he has the speed and a solid and accurate arm to be a solid everyday centerfielder. The more he plays, the better he will get.
