Brian Haggett is a 2008 2B/1B/OF with a 6'1'', 187 lb. frame from Hollister CA, who attends San Benito HS. He consistently showed some ability with the bat and also brings positional versatility. Haggett has a strong present day build, with a good core, and is well-proportioned. He showed well in BP and then perhaps even better with his game hitting approach. Haggett has good hitting hands and swings with a nice hand path. He has a quick bat, is short to the ball, stays inside, and then also has the ability to drive through contact with extension. His bat head stays in the hitting zone for some time, making him a tough out, with some gap pop. Defensively he has quiet actions, good hands and gets some carry on his throws. He played 2nd base well and would also make a good left fielder. Haggett is a strong student and good looking hitting prospect who should thrive in college baseball.
