Arnold "Emilio" Gonzales is a 2016 1B/C with a 5-11 205 lb. frame from Corpus CHristi, TX who attends WB Ray HS. Thick strong build. Right handed hitter, uppercut swing with good bat speed and strength at contact, uses his strong hands well to generate bat speed, top spins the ball and handles the barrel well, will get long at times. Primary first baseman but worked out and played behind the plate at the event, short compact arm action with good arm strength and carry, soft hands receiving strikes and framing the ball, will need to improve lower body quickness to stay behind the plate or to play first base well. Bat will carry at present. Good student.
