Michael Mooney is a 2013 1B/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Aurora, IL who attends Metea Valley HS. Projectable big frame, lean athletic build. At first base he throws from a short arm action, arm is playable, has feel around the bag, good agility around the bag, saves errors at first. At the plate starts open, has a toe-tap trigger, pull approach, gets hands away from his body, has good balance, shows bat speed, has a smooth good swing, has a line drive swing plane, makes line drive solid contact, has pop in his bat. Is a good student and is an interesting prospect to follow.
