Connor Simpson is a 2014 RHP/1B with a 6-5 215 lb. frame from Erwin, TN who attends Unicoi County. Extra large frame with broad shoulders and a very projectable frame. Ran a 7.49 60 yard dash. Right handed pitcher from a three quarters arm slot and a full arm circle in back. Fills up the strike zone with a two pitch mix. Fastball features natural cut, with which he comes in on left handed hitters well, and also flashes occasional arm side run, topping out at 82 mph. Has a feel for a sharp, 11/5 shaped curveball which topped at 72 mph. Also bat right handed, hitting from a closed stance and wide base. Flashed line drive contact with the ability to create back spin on the bal. Good bat speed. Shows arm strength at first base and makes accurate throws.Velocity on the mound will continue to develop once he starts using his height to get downhill. Very good student.
