Riddlehoover is a live bodied 5-11, 160 lb senior shortstop from North Carolina. He has a slender, young body that has some hidden strength in it. Riddlehoover is a very good runner with a 6.83 60 time and very quick feet in the field and on the bases. He has plenty of arm strength and range to play shortstop at the next level. Riddlehoover threw 84 mph during infield drills. He tends to lay back on balls a bit, trusting his arm strength, and will have to improve on working through the ball as the game speeds up. Riddlehoover showed a very quick, short swing from the right side of the plate and squared up on the ball very well. From the left side Riddlehoover didn't have the same type of bat speed or balance in his swing but still looked like a solid hitter. Riddlehoover also pitched and showed interesting ability as a situational pitcher. He throws from a low 3/4's release point with a live, whippy arm action that generated a 84-85 mph fastball. His 71 mph curveball had very good spin and a very big, wide break to it. Right handed hitters can't like hitting off Riddlehoover at all. Riddlehoover's style of play is all out, hyper aggressive in all facets of the game and he's a high energy young man. He's a very good follow and an interesting 2-way prospect in the right situation. He is also a good student.
