David Peterson is a 6'1" first baseman/outfielder from San Diego, CA, with very good overall athletic ability and some nice projection. He worked out at first base, but profiles much better to the outfield. Peterson runs around 7.0 or better in the 60 and throws up to 81 across the infield, so handling a corner outfield position should be easy. Peterson, a switch hitter, hits out of a wide stance at the plate, but does a good job of keeping his weight back and his hands in a leveraged position. He showed some good bat speed and hand strength, especially in batting practice, and should improve as he gets even stronger. Good college prospect! David is an excellent student as well.
