Jorge Meran is a 2015 OF/RHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends All Hallows. Large frame, thick athletic build, good present strength, wide set shoulders. Arm really stood out, both in the outfield and on the mound. Even best 94 mph throw in the outfield workout, also up to 87 mph on the mound. Showed solid power at the plate utilizing strong lower half well, good bat speed hitting from a spread stance, more raw power in there, short to the ball with an aggressive swing, line drive swing plane. Plus arm from the outfield, good carry on throws, long arm action, accurate, moves well defensively. Pitches from a three quarter arm slot with a long arm action, good arm strength with a long follow-through. Kept the ball down in the strike zone well, commanded fastball well. Very good spin and depth on slider, good shape with hard late break, pitch projects well. Interesting two-way prospect.
