Blake Tagmeyer is a 2006 middle infielder from Grandview HS in Centennial, CO, with a 5'9", 155 lb. frame. He has good athletic actions and shows promise to add more strength to a lean body and medium frame. He shows good bat speed and proved in batting practice that he can handle the wood bat and use the whole field and hit the ball where it is pitched. He has quiet hands with an advanced approach, and battles at the plate. Tagmeyer stays on curveballs well with good hand-eye coordination. We like the way he carries himself on the field, and shows the hustle and aggressiveness that is needed to improve and play at a higher level of baseball. Tagmeyer has a good contact approach and could be used early in the line up in the 1-2 hole to spark a team. Defensively he has good actions and the footwork to play the middle of the diamond with solid arm strength and good quickness. He ran a good sixty on a slow track, and showed good game quickness as well.
