Austin Chubb is a 2007 catcher from Lake Mary High School in Florida with a 6'1", 195 lb. frame. He has a strong body with balanced strength throughout. Defensively he moves very well behind the plate with quick feet and fluid motions. Chubb has a lively arm with very good arm strength and has the ability to control an opposing team's running game. He is an advanced defensive catcher. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with high hands. He attacks the ball and shows a quick bat with a line drive swing plane. There is present strength in his swing and his strength and bat speed help produce big time raw power. Even though he attacks the ball, he has a simple approach and drives the ball hard. He will be a middle of the order run producer at the next level. Chubb has very good long term potential on the field, and is also a good student off the field.
