Robbie Powell is a 2008 RHP with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame from Punta Gorda, FL who attends Charlotte. Robbie uses a low 3/4 to sidearm release point which gives him some nice late run on his fastball. He reaches back and fires his fastball which he ran up to 89 in Fort Myers. His arm was long in back and would turn his back in his delivery. He showed a good feel for pitching and attacked hitters by using both sides of the plate. He showed very good pitchability and a good feel of pitching. Robbie did an excellent job of mixing his pitches and kept hitters uncomfortable in the box all game long. He is a surefire division one prospect and it will be interesting to watch him develop over the next year. He also is a good student.
