Daniel Estrello is a 2005 catcher from Austin, TX, with strong hips and thighs and good present strength throughout his body. He has a good balance of tools offensively and defensively. Estrello has a late trigger at the plate and does a good job of keeping his hands back on breaking balls. He also showed the ability to drop the bat head on inside fastballs with a quick, short swing. He has the ability to make solid contact with wood and projects some power potential. Estrello also ran well for a catcher. Defensively, Estrello’s arm strength was playable. He had quick actions behind the plate and a quick release, which gave him the ability to put up pop times below 2.00. Daniel is a good student.
