2004 Sunshine West Showcase
WP - Clay Barker is a RHP/MIF from Hockley, TX. Barker is a good sized right-hander who, as a post grad student, showed pitchability for us in the showcase. He didn’t throw the ball by any of the hitters, but he did show us a mature approach by mixing speeds in odd counts. He threw his fastball at 80mph and his curve in the upper 60’s. His arm worked clean without stress and he finished in a good fielding position. He also showed a quick bat in BP, but we think he’d be best utilized to eat innings on the mound in a College setting.
