2005 National Open Top Prospect Showcase
Vince Nash is a 5'10" 160 2006 second baseman and outfielder from North Port, Florida who has a short athletic body and a medium frame. Vince has good speed and quickness, he ran a 6.82 60 which was one of the best at this showcase. He really makes things happen with his speed. Nash has solid arm strength as well. During the workout, he threw 79 mph across the infield and made accurate throws. He has easy actions in the field and has nice footwork. At the plate, Vince is a contact hitter who stays inside the ball very well. He hits with a high hand set and good flex in his knees. Nash pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot and throws a good two seam fastball which was at 76 mph. His curveball was his best pitch at 65 mph with good sharp 11/5 break.
