Jordan Hoey is a 2016 OF/RHP, MIF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from West Des Moines, IA who attends Dowling Catholic. Medium frame with solid build. Tall open stance with a higher back elbow and hand set at the plate. Tends to stride early and produces primary bat speed from the hands. Downhill swing plane through contact that produces linedrive, groundball contact. Top have is loose and has rhythm throughout swing. Shows a mid-field approach with balance. Shows some barrel control and has ability to drive the ball the other way on pitches outer half. Very aggresive on close to baseball from the outfield. Tends to take a few extra steps on throws to bags. Extended reach with a longer arm swing and short arm actions on throw. Produced some on line carry and topped at 83 mph. Smooth while surrounding and funneling ball in the infield. 3/4 arm slot with shorter arm actions on throws across topping at 79 mph. Shows some range to both sides. Athletic tool set in the infield. Also pitched showing a smooth tempo and a balanced pause at the top of gather. Shorter arm actions on delivery with a fastball that ranged 75-77 mph. Flashed a softer curveball that topped at 65 mph.
