2013 Caribbean Top Prospect Showcase
Abimael Estrada is a 2014 LHP/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Bayamón, PR who attends Caguas Military Academy. Medium athletic build, some present strength. Leg tuck delivery with some drop and drive to the plate, compact arm action, hides the ball well, 3/4's slot. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight but spots it well to the corners, will cut fastball at times with intent, functions as change up when it doesn't break. Soft curveball with good 1/7 shape, consistent with curveball and throws it for strikes. Shows signs of pitchability and having and idea how to mix.
