Connor Maginnis is a 2016 SS/RHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Metairie, LA who attends Jesuit HS. Large, athletic build with a young, lean and projectable frame with room to continue to fill out. Ran a 7.18 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, athletic actions to the ball and moves well charging in, shows range to either side, easy and clean release, gets on top of throws with good carry and strength across, extension out front on throws. Right-handed hitter, starts with a square stance and shows good momentum through swing. Compact path to the ball, gets to front foot early at times, shows a consistent feel for the barrel. Good bat speed coming through the zone, shows strength and comes off barrel loud when squared. Swing gets long at times, projects well with added strength. Very good student. Named to National Underclass East Top Prospect List.
