Andrew Nichols is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Watertown, MN who attends Watertown Mayer. Nichols has a medium sized frame with a lean build. He pitches from an overhand arm slot with a long arm action. Nichols has some looseness to his arm and pitches with some effort. He has a funky delivery which is deceptive to hitters. Nichols gets some cut action on his fastball when it's down and he also throws a 12/6 curveball. He gets some downer action on his curveball and he has developing feel for it. Defensively Nichols has developing actions in the outfield with developing arm strength up to 74 MPH. At the plate, Nichols starts with a slightly open stance and has a slap hitters approach. He has developing hitting tools with developing bat speed. Very good student.
