2005 Sunshine East Showcase
Araujo is a 5-9 right handed pitcher from South Florida with broad shoulders and good strength. He throws from an extended 3/4's arm action and falls off to first base on his release. Araujo's fastball was 79-81 mph at the showcase with some tailing action. His 64 mph curveball has some depth to it and a sweeping break. He should be able to add some velocity with mechanical adjustments. Araujo also plays some third base and showed solid defensive ability, with 82 mph arm strength and quick feet to the ball. His strength gives him some power potential with the bat.
