Chris Stevens is a 2017 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Mont Belvieu, TX who attends Barbers Hill. Large, athletic build with a well-proportioned frame and present strength. Ran a 7.97 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a shorter arm action in the back. High hand break with a clean, quick arm action and repeats mechanics. Shows a three pitch mix, gets under the ball at times. Fastball topped at 79 mph and shows arm side run and sinking life when he is on top of ball. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with tighter rotation. Stronger feel for changeup, nice fading action with ability to spot consistently. Shows a quick release in the infield and has range, good arm strength across. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and uses a small toe twist trigger. Upper body swing, line drive swing plane with line drive contact, opens front side early at times, gets barrel through the zone. Very good student.
