Desmond Pineda is a 2016 RHP/2B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Centennial, CO who attends Arapahoe HS. Medium frame, shows athleticism and present strength in build. Primary right-handed pitcher, uses a slow paced rotational delivery, keeping his hands high throughout. Accelerates to the plate with lower half and releases from a high three-quarters arm slot, creates deception. Pitched aggressively with fastball which topped at 83 mph and moved it around the zone with command. His curveball is his best off speed pitch, showing solid 11-5 shape with depth and late break. Feel for mid-70's changeup progressed as outing went on. Good footwork in the outfield for a secondary position. Long arm action, ball comes out clean and very good accuracy. Right-handed hitter, shows looseness and extension out front in swing. Upper half swing, created line drive contact with some present strength. Very good student.
