Chad Masters is a 2006 RHP/OF/C from Immokalee High School in Florida, with a 5'9", 160 lb. frame. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a deliberate delivery. Masters will change his arm angle at times trying to get more life on his pitches. His fastball topped out at 83 mph while he worked from 80-83. At times he had some glove side movement on his fastball and threw plenty of strikes. Masters showed pitchability moving his fastball in and out,, and knew when to attack hitters. He also mixed in a sweeping curveball at 71 mph, and a changeup at 71 mph. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a wide stance and drives the ball. Masters has good bat speed from a high hand set with present strength in his swing. He hits the ball where it is pitched and has a good line drive swing plane. Defensively he has good arm strength from behind the plate and from the outfield. Overall, Masters has solid all-around skills with position flexibility. He is also a good student.
