Nicholas Rodriguez is a 2014 C/1B with a 6-2 225 lb. frame from Cape Coral, FL who attends Island Coast. Tall, large frame, strong build. Hits with a high hand set, downward swing plane, creates backspin on the ball with good strength at contact, homered in BP. Good bat speed, cuts off swing at times, ball jumps when centered, tries to use a compact swing with a contact approach at time but tools are more geared for power hitter. Short arm action behind the plate, accurate throws, low transfer.
