uan De La Cruz is a 2014 C/1B/RHP with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends George Washington Educational Campus. Lean athletic build with good present strength. Versatile defensive skills, can play corner positions all over the field, 7.47 runner, very strong arm. Solid catching/receiving skills, moves well behind the plate, tends to over stride on his throws, can shorten up his actions, 2.00 best pop time. Switch-hitter, much better from the right side, swings hard and has present bat speed, moves into contact well, power approach, looks new to hitting left handed. Also pitched, compact delivery, high 3/4's arm slot, not consistent in his present mechanics and release point. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, mostly straight, curveball shows big 11/5 depth at times but tips it from different arm action/release point. Good overall athlete with tools to develop. Good student.
