2003 Sunshine West Showcase
Another of the young 2005 catchers we had at the Sunshine West showcase, Sobieraj is a big 6 foot 1, 185 body that looks good for his age. He has good potential with his size for power. His arm works good from behind the plate and he showed good pop times. He quickest pop time was 2.09 but only at 71 mph so we expect he will be regularly under 2.0 when he gains more arm strength. His receiving ability is very good and his bat might have more potential than any other area. He is from a cold weather state and to show gap to gap hitting ability in BP is impresive. He bars his arm with his swing and would benefit from staying inside the ball but right now he is ahead of the game. Good student.
