Patrick Weigel is a 2012 RHP/3B with a 6-5 200 lb. frame from Camarillo, CA who attends St Bonaventure HS. Profile long and projectable pitcher's build. Full hands over head delivery, big back turn, long extended arm circle, gets lower 1/2 opened well on release, extended 3/4's arm slot, repeats mechanics well. Mid 80's fastball, good run and sink, touched 87 mph, increased velo throughout outing and threw harder from the stretch. Slider showed good sharpness at times, big breaking curveball gives another look, some developing feel for change up. Mixes it up and throws strikes. Athletic off the mound. Has some bat speed and power potential at the plate, gets the ball into the air, has leverage and moves through contact, swings hard. Has nice baseball instincts in all areas, should definitely continue to improve. Good student.
