Ryan Mountcastle is a 2015 SS with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Winter Springs, FL who attends Hagerty HS. Long and loose athletic build, lots of strength potential. Right handed hitter, spread stance, could get more lower half into swing, very good timing, loose fluid swing with bat speed, big power to the middle of the field, consistent hard contact, sees the ball exceptionally well and can adjust to different zones and speeds, makes adjustments with two strikes, intelligent hitter, going to just keep improving offensively with additional strength. 6.77 runner, plays tall on defense, good hands, long whippy arm with good arm strength and carry, third base tools and profile as he continues to fill out. Type of player best watched in games rather than drills, really performs well and shows his tools best. Good student, verbal commitment to Central Florida. Selected for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
