Darin Nelson is a 2012 MIF/OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Roseburg, OR who attends Roseburg. Slender athletic build and looks the part on the field. Very smooth actions up the middle, moves well laterally, circles ball, very good balance and body control. Soft hands, fields cleanly out front and shows a quick transfer with carry to and through the bag on his throws. Good MIF tools. Also worked out as an outfielder, same athletic movements, gets rid of it quickly and delivers accurate throws. Straight away stance at the plate, good stride and balance, short swing with a good path through the zone, lots of line drives but shows the ability to drive the ball into the gaps. Good student.
