Ryan Fandel is a 2007 1B/OF with a 6'0'', 187 lb. frame from Stockton NJ, who attends Hunterdon Central. Fandel has a taller large frame with good strength. Defensively, Fandel has very active feet and moves around the base well at first base. He has nice hands and can make the picks. He has developing arm strength with a good idea how to play 1b. At the plate, Fandel starts with a narrow base and takes a long stride. He has a good short load and gets in a position to hit. Fandel is busy in the box and has a bit of a hitch before his hands go to the ball. He has quick hands with a short stroke. He has present gap to gap power and showed it with a hard opposite field hit in game. He has power potential that will come as he learns to swing with more leverage and balance. Fandel is also a very good student.
