Mike Bernstein is a 2008 outfielder/first baseman from Des Moines, Iowa, with a 5'7", 180 lb. frame. He hits from an upright stance with good hands and good bat speed. Bernstein showed power potential and made solid contact including a ball 87 mph off the bat. He has the potential to be a very good hitter. Bernstein also has good actions in the outfield with plus arm speed and a nice arm action. His throws are accurate and on line with solid carry at 75 mph. Bernstein also threw at the event, and topped out 71 mph from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a slight hip turn in his delivery with a deliberate motion. He also mixed in a 12 to 6 curveball at 66 mph. Bernstein had solid control and when he missed it was to his arm side. He projects to be a good hitting outfielder with power potential and good defensive actions.
