Richard Mendoza is a 2010 RHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Juncos, PR. Released player from the Cardinals organization. Well paced delivery, long loose arm action, some effort on release, high 3/4's arm slot. Primary fastball pitcher, topped out at 86 mph, occasional sinking action, aggressive with his fastball and recorded numerous ground ball outs. Flashed very good change up, hard sinking action, needs to throw change up more often. Some curveball spin, some depth and bite, tended to overthrow curveball. Didn't mix well for his experience level. 90-92 mph when signed, so arm strength is in there.
