2003 Sunshine West Showcase
Wink is a 2005 right-hander with a good delivery and a fast arm. He showed good balance from start to finish. He works at a good pace and established his fastball early. He had a 78-81 mph fastball and a good 68 mph 12-6 curveball that we liked. He pitched ahead in the count and he appeared to throw a couple change-ups in the 70 mph range also. His curveball was showing a good break and will get better as he grows. He already has a good start on how to pitch and his stuff is right on track for his 2005 year. He was using a maple bat and it may have been too heavy for him, but he made good contact and showed good hands to the ball. He can do it on both sides and we need to keep track of his progress.
