John Shaposka is a 2005 C/P from Concord, OH, with a good medium build. He has a pull oriented contact swing at the plate and showed some power in batting practice with some line drive potential during games. Shaposka looks like he has the raw arm strength and quickness to be a good defensive catcher if he can learn to play a bit less on his heals. Shaposka also pitched two scoreless innings, hitting 77 mph with his fastball and a 71-73 mph breaking ball. He also threw a change up and knuckler. The bat will take him to the next level.
