2005 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Puffer is a 6-3, 190 lb senior outfielder from New York. He ran the 60 in 7.79 and threw 74 mph from the outfield during drills. Puffer also played some infield but his tools are much better suited for the outfield. At the plate, Puffer hits from a no stride approach and gets his hands started late to the ball. He has some leverage in his swing and showed some power to the middle of the field when he got the bat head to the ball, including a hard triple to right centerfield. It looks like he could improve with a different approach that gave him more rhythm and movement into the ball. Puffer is a very good student.
