Kyle McPherson is a College RHP/IF with a 6'3'', 205 lb. frame from Creola, AL who attends University of Mobile. He is unique for his position in school, as he doesn't turn 20 until November but just finished his junior year. McPherson has a strong and mature body for a 19 year old. He only pitched at the pre-draft although he was a two-way player in college this spring and played 3B more than he pitched. McPherson looks like a high level pitching prospect for us. He was steady 89-92 mph with a quick, compact arm action and mid 3/4's release. He uses his lower half well, although he'll occasionally drift out front. McPherson threw both a slider and a curveball; the slider was the better pitch, it was a sharp, late biter at times. He also threw a pretty good change up. This young man could be a real sleeper if he went to pitching full-time; he has arm strength, athletic abilty and four present pitches. Maybe he is a 10!
