Anthony Iglesias is a 2009 C/OF with a 6'0'', 195 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends Westminster Christian. He has a thick, strong mature build for his age. Iglesias has good arm strength and makes accurate, on line throws to the bases. His actions and transfers are slow and deliberate, which keeps his pop times high. He is a willing and enthusiastic blocker of pitches and shows soft hands receiving the ball. Offensively, Iglesias hits out of a narrow, calm approach and has good hitting fundamentals. He has a line drive, pull swing and has some leverage at contact and can drive the ball well with his strength. Iglesias was selective at the plate and had some of his best at bats against the best pitchers he faced. It looks like he's going to be a good hitter as he develops. Quickness will be a factor with Iglesias over the next few years but strength and good fundamentals won't. He's a solid young catching prospect.
