Ryan De Jesus is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'3'', 185 lb. frame from Westlake, CA who attends Westlake HS. He has a long and lanky build with some strength projection. DeJesus throws from a tall, on line delivery with a tall and fall type delivery that leads to some drift out in front of his arm coming through. DeJesus throws from a high 3/4's release point and gets good downhill angle to his pitches. His fastball was 73-75 mph and fairly straight. DeJesus' best pitch was a mid-60's change up that had life at the plate and good arm speed at release. His curveball as 60-63 mph and had a big, rolling break. DeJesus' arm action isn't especially projectable, although he should add some velocity through strength gains as he gets older. DeJesus plays first base when not pitching and has a smooth, low effort swing with developing bat speed. He is a good student off the field.
