With all of the hullabalu over seedings before the field of 64 is selected.... as of now what do we have, 2 seeds left. FSU & SC. All the sophisticated RPI ratings, all the polls from writers, coaches, etc, (why not a Las Vegas Bookie Poll? They may have a alternative insight) what do we have?....3 non seeded & 2 seeded teams competing for the CWS crown. Yea a seeded team gives ya home field advantage IF you keep winning in the R & SR's.

The teams that are here right now are here because of character & guts, not stats. How can the intangables be considered when selecting the field of 64.

I think too much emphasis is placed on the seedings. This is baseball & anything can and does happen.

Comments?

Espn would lose it since they always refer to us as the Arizona Razorbacks.

What do you expect? They both got an "A' on their caps....Red is used by both teams.....and yes, I have been educated about Cardinal red from a Hog friend.

THEY ARE ESPN afterall!

Okay, here's Bob, Opihi, and yours truly. My PS trial SW license just ran out so I can't adjust the colors, which are very orange...not sure why. Providing a link cuz it's wide and will screw up this thread again.

Would agree with you there. There's a reason why the top national seed hasn't won this tournament in quite a long time. Pretty much anything and everything can happen in the postseason.

Hay Kendall...welcome back. Ain't seen or heard from ya in a month. No hi-speed internet from Pitcairn Island? I sent ya a PM with a qestiona a while ago. Pls CK.

OMAHA, Neb.--Konner Wade pitched the 100th shutout in College World Series play and the 4-0 victory over UCLA on Sunday night kept Arizona in the winner's bracket. A crowd of 19,198 in TD Ameritrade Park saw Wade pitch a complete game and walk none to keep a streak of 25 and one-third innings alive without issuing a free pass.

This Week in Pac-12 Baseball

ASU74
ASU74
• No. 1 national seed Florida and postseason surprise Stony Brook have been eliminated from the College World Series, leaving six teams--including two Pac-12 teams--in the mix for the national championship (ARIZONA, Arkansas, Florida State, Kent State, South Carolina and UCLA).

• UCLA and Florida State face off Tuesday night in an elimination game. The winner advances to play Arizona Thursday evening. South Carolina and Kent State also have an elimination game Wednesday night. The winner of that contest will play Arkansas Thursday night.

• Arizona RHP Konner Wade pitched the 100th shutout in College World Series play on Sunday night as the Wildcats posted a 4-0 victory over UCLA to keep Arizona in the winner’s bracket.

• The sophomore’s shutout was Arizona’s first in CWS play since its second NCAA title year in 1980, when the ‘Cats downed Michigan, 8-0. Wade walked none to make it 25 and one-third innings without issuing a walk. It was also the first complete-game shutout without a walk in CWS history since ARIZONA STATE’s Craig Swan accomplished the feat in 1972.

• UCLA enters Tuesday’s game against Florida State having won 20 of its last 23 games. UCLA’s 10-game winning streak ended when the Bruins fell to Arizona on Sunday.

• Arizona’s victory on Sunday was Andy Lopez’s 400th win in his 11 seasons in Tucson, bringing him to a 400-246-1 (.618) record.

• If Arizona wins on Thursday, the Wildcats will advance to the championship finals, making it the fourth time in seven years a Pac-12 team has played for the championship.

• According to UCLA Athletics, UCLA has compiled the nation’s top record in road/neutral site games, going 21-5 away from home this year.
