So did the committee rely more on RPI and regular season more this year? Thats the way it appears, but there are a few teams I think that got in based on a good showing in conference tournaments.

Especially if Oklahoma holds Jonathan Gray on Friday and wins

I think the committee also needs to come out and say, once and for all, if they put any value in Conference Tournaments or not. The quotes coming from the committee this year, shows that they really didn't take the tournaments into account. But several teams in the field this year sure look like they benefited from a few wins in their Conference Tournaments.

I think everybody is just looking for some consistency in the selection criteria from year to year.

One other factoid: 4th place UT-San Antonio won the WAC tournament, beating 1st place CS Bakersfield, who would have been a much better representative of the conference. While being 4th place and sneaking in is not all that horrible, note that the WAC also allowed teams 5 through 8 to participate in their stupid conference tournament. Out of ten teams total! What is this, the NBA? Eighty percent of the teams get to participate in the playoffs? Ridiculous!

Exactly, I have always hated this about the NBA playoffs. Now that is exactly what the SEC is doing, letting 12 of the 14 teams into the Tournament. Why not stick with the top 8?!?!?

Blake, not that I think it will happen, but you never know. Could you imagine the aftermath if LSU were to lose to ULL in the regional? I don't think I would want to be around for that.

We all know that any team is capable of beating anybody. Last year the LSU bats went ice cold against Stony Brook. While this years team is much better than last years, ya never know!! My biggest concern is Oklahoma winning the VT regional and Gray and Overton coming to Baton Rouge.

Wow, LSU suspends their No.3 starter Cody Glenn for regionals. Violation of team rules. Should LSU win the first two games, Sunday could be very interesting now. If I was his teammates I would beat him with a garden hose.

I think maybe Troy over Alabama.

And gonna go out on a far limb and say, St. Louis over South Carolina. Just remember you heard it here first.

Really? Its the bottom of the 1st in the LSU game. 2-1

Although not at all surprised by the A&M score and Bama losing.

I know, I got ya. Just a little misleading b/c LSU hadn't even gotten to bat yet.

I wish I knew and damn sure Paul Mainieri wish he knew as well. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt the 1st inning b/c it was raining to start the game, then half way thru the 1st it was a monsoon and the ump was letting the game continue. He couldn't even grip the ball it was raining so hard.

But in the 2nd inning it has continued so I don't know. He tends to be streaky. When he is on he is dominant. Which is why he is a projected 1st or 2nd rounder. But he is really laboring today.

Yep, and he is done. Last thing LSU needed. No.2 and 3 starters are already done for the weekend 2 and 1/3 innings into game 1.

Wow, LSU getting killed today. Shortstop Bregman and leftfielder Ryhmes collide on a shallow fly ball. Both of them have bloody noses and very woozy after the play.

Doesn't look like either will return to the game.

I don't know about the ACC teams. But Florida losing to Austin Peay, and Bama losing to Troy aren't that surprising to me.

I was surprised that Ole Miss gambled by holding out Wahl today. Looks like that came back to bite them.

Opih!!!!! I know you were giving the SEC hell early today, and it was well deserved. But what about the Pac? I see everyone came back and won, but I wanted to be around and raise hell like you were earlier today. I was out so i couldn't talk smack. OSU struggled with lowly Texas San Antonio. What happened?
