Best of luck to your kiddo ... very interested to see how The Huskers play this weekend, in addition to seeing how Carson Smith pitches against the Huskers. Missouri State also isn't bad .... and poor Air Force.

Smith isn't pitching against NU, it will be Tyler Niederklein vs Mitchell Pitts.

Baylor and Texas are overrated and UH will do well to be .500 this year.

Texas State has a good club, it will be interesting to see how they do the rest of the year. If Smith would have started Friday they would have gone 3-0 in their tourney.

I've never understood why games aren't scheduled an hour or two earlier than normal when curfews are in effect.

No clue, they knew way in advance when the flight was...it was a holiday so it wasn't as if they had to start at 6:35 to accommodate people getting off work. Even if they scheduled the game at 6:05 that would have given 3 and half hours to at least start the 9th inning.

It happens in the Big12 all the time. It seems so simple to just move the game back an hour or so.

Nebraska - UCLA Series

HuskerFan31
HuskerFan31
The teams have split the first two games in the series, 1-0 UCLA in 11 innings, and 2-1 NU in 12 innings. Cole and Bauer were nearly perfect, but both took no decisions. Nebraska has had outstanding pitching performances from Jon Keller and Casey Hauptman on Friday and Matt Freeman and Dylan Vogt today. The rubber match tomorrow should be another great game.

Cole and Bauer have been throwing out of their minds. It's a shame they can't get any support from the bats. It'll be interesting to see if Plutko gets some help tomorrow.

They'll be facing a true Freshman making his first start, but they faced a true Freshman on Friday and got shut down so who knows. This has been one of the better pitched series I've seen in awhile.

Nebraska edges UCLA: UCLA starting pitcher Trevor Bauer struck out 17 hitters in 10 innings, but still earned a no decision on the way to a 2-1 loss to Nebraska. NU starting pitcher Matt Freeman put together a solid performance, but it was reliever Dylan Vogt who tossed five perfect innings in relief to guide the victory. The series is now tied 1-1 going into Sunday’s rubber match. NU has to be thrilled with how the weekend has progressed.

Vogt wasn't perfect, he hit the first batter he faced.
