With the Bubble busters from conference tourneys I think they miss...but who knows. If UCLA can get a host with an RPI around 35 anything is possible. 7 PAC-10 teams would be epic!

Aren't they tied for the Pac-10 lead coming into today? If they beat ASU and Oregon State beats Oregon, they will be seen as Co-Champions (I know Ore St would get the auto-bid) but this is the committee giving the Top 3 teams in Pac-10 hosts sites and the West has 4 sites in total. Now which site does Fresno go to as a #2? LA, Fullerton or Corvallis?

Fresno State to Corvallis makes a lot of sense, but I'm wondering if Southern Miss goes to either UCLA or Corvallis as a 1 seed. I think Arkansas is more likely to do that at this point.

Do you think the committee would send a 1 seed out west even though So Miss and others have bigger facilities than UCLA/OSU. The only reason I can see that happening is if the announced the host sites prematurely and both teams losses make the committee 2nd guess their choices...what do you think Kendall?

Kendall with all due respect...Gosh I hope you're wrong in FSU not getting a National Seed. But I see how you can see the field shaking out like that. I would think FSU's RPI Top 25 record, Overall RPI standing, not to mention they have 8 victories over the RPI TOP 10 while A&M and Tex have combined for just 11 wins over the RPI Top 25. Texas with 6, A&M with 5.

I agree and I personally would rather see 2 Florida Supers and 2 Texas Supers than 1 and 3

My unimportant analysis according to these projections:

Regional's I would fear:
UCLA
Fullerton
South Carolina
Virginia
Vanderbilt

Cakewalks:
Georgia Tech
Florida
Rice
Texas A&M
North Carolina

I see 3 very possible upsets: Stanford, Fresno State, Southern Miss

My dark horse: LSU

And I guess whoever wins the UCLA regional is an upset

I remember reading somewhere that ESPN 3 would be picking up a bunch of regional coverage.

I'd say you should do a final Regional Projections, to show how you would've done it differently but I assume the one you posted Sunday is exactly that

Let's see...Rice has been to Omaha 7 times since 1997 (including 5 times over the 7-year 2002 - 2008 period). How many teams have made more appearances in the past 14 years?

Miami - 8
LSU - 7
Cal State Fullerton -7
Stanford - 7

Those are the ones in the past 14 years...

I have no dog in this argument but the other side would point out that yes Rice has been 7 times in the past 14 years however they have been 0 times all years previous.

James Madison is my sleeper...they got a tough draw in UNC but they have bats aplenty. If they can put together a decent day of pitching together they can take down UNC's #2/#4 with their bats (assuming they get by FIU).

Another would be Cal, they have the talent...just have consistency problems, if they can get it together I think they have a chance against Rice (and I think they should beat Baylor).

Basically they are simulcasting the Gainesville and Fullerton regional with the ESPNU feed and they picked up the Fort Worth and Corvallis feed for online only.

It probably also has something to do with the equipment (production) at the University. Oregon State has a professional style setup that they use for their Beaver Nation Online Streaming video.

I'm a little confused, why is Oregon State the visiting team tonight? I thought they way it worked is whoever wasn't home team yesterday was today and the higher seed was home if both were home team yeaterday?

Cal may host...I hear there are lighting issues but they could always play nearby. Who knows with that messed up athletic program though...they'll probably figure out a way to twist this around on how the baseball program is more expensive than they thought and ask their donors to keep opening their pockets.
