Oh Kenny if you wanna talk about jealousy...when's the last time your baseball team did this, since we are on a College Baseball board (1975, you shared it with WSU in the North, and there were 2 divisions)?

He is not Kenny Wheaton, no one would create their user name using their own name followed by "For the win". Not even the most egotistical of all Ducks. Come on RD, and yes I am familiar with the interception.

With the exception of how high Indiana is I think you've nailed it.

A good quote from Aaron Fitt which can be found here:

"Oregon as a national seed, however, just doesn’t make sense. The Ducks played five series against NCAA tournament teams, and they lost all five. They played a very strong nonconference schedule, but still they are just 6-10 against the top 50. North Carolina State, on the other hand, is 18-10 against the top 50, and Indiana is 10-9 against the top 50. Those three teams, along with Florida State, were the finalists for the last two national seeds, Farrell said.

“I think that there were some committee members who were impressed with Oregon’s nonconference schedule and that they went on the road, particularly late in the season, and played at Ohio State,” Farrell said. “They had the nonconference series with Vanderbilt as well this year. So I think that the committee probably was impressed with their effort to step up their nonconference schedule.”

Apparently, going 1-2 against every regional team you play is good enough to get you a national seed, as long as you played a tough schedule. That shouldn’t be good enough; national seeds are supposed to be elite, not just very good. Oregon had a very good season, finishing second in the Pac-12 and ninth in the RPI. The Ducks deserved to host—but they did not prove they are good enough to win series against quality teams, so how can they be a national seed?"

DM, that pretty well summarized my thoughts on Oregon as the 8 seed.

RD, reread the article, it states Oregon had a good season and deserves to host yet doesn't deserve to be a national seed as they aren't elite. It in no way diminishes what Oregon did this year, just states that other teams were more deserving of the "elite" designation.

They swept #23 RPI Georgia Tech and swept #11 RPI Virginia Tech. They lost 3 series vs your 5. NC State was 18-10 vs top 50, Ducks were 6-10.

Didn't we do this last year? 0-2, 1-2, 2-2, 3-1, 3-0? Or something like that? Gonna do it this year?

i believe it was 0-2, 1-2, 2-2, 3-0, 3+ which takes 3-2 and 4-1

Only thing is 4-1 is winning a regional and 3-2 is losing a regional...

It's early in the day but the SEC/ ACC are struggling in their games...

Clemson lost. 8-3 to Liberty!
Texas A&M Lost. 6-4 vs UCSB!
Georgia Tech lost. 6-4 to Illinois!
Ole Miss lost. 4-2 to William & Mary!
Alabama Lost. 5-2 to Troy!
Florida Lost. 4-3 to Austin Peay, Peay Peay hit a 3-run bomb in the bottom of the 8th!
Virginia Tech is losing big

North Carolina is winning
Florida State is winning
Miami won. 7-0 vs Oklahoma State!
Virginia won. 2-1 over Army!
LSU won. 11-7 vs Jackson State, injuries and pitching is a big question mark.

Very interesting...

I know, I got ya. Just a little misleading b/c LSU hadn't even gotten to bat yet.

What's up with your pitcher?!? 2 runs, 4 hits, 2 hit batters, and a walk and it's only the second inning...
