Overall it looks good...I wish the Frogs could of pulled out a sweep, but it's okay. I think the Frog faithful certainly have to be happy with the pitching this weekend. Some younger guys stepped up in the pen and had nice performances. Plus the starters only gave up one run over 17 innings.

Replacing Holaday is certainly the biggest uphill battle for the Frogs, and we knew that would be the case. Pharr looked pretty good, but he did make some pick off throw attempts and such that were probably not the best decisions.

Some nice attendance figures in this thread so far....TCU's is not quite as impressive. But we had 6,099 on Friday, then 4,401 on Saturday, and 4,393 on Sunday.

So these are now our three highest attendance games, plus the three day series was our highest by about 4,000 people.

Still not like what some schools pull, but I think it was good for #9 in attendance for the weekend.

I think those are good numbers. Good to see the support across the country for college baseball.

Oh yes, they are certainly good number, especially for us. We expanded the stadium by about 800 seats this season, so hopefully we can continue to get good attendance. We were #17 in the country last season, I think we have the potential to climb up to around #13 or so this season.

Next weekend I think TCU will break their three game series record for attendance for the second week in a row as we welcome a great Cal State Fullerton team to town. We have had a nice 4 year series with Cal State Fullerton now. They took the series in Fort Worth in 2008, we took the series in Fullerton in both 2009 and 2010, now they return to Fort Worth for 2011.

Hopefully we can continue to play Fullerton, I know the fans of both teams enjoy the match up.

As a TCU fan I'm certainly looking forward to TCU @ Baylor. It should be a good game. It looks like the Frogs will be starting freshman Andrew Mitchell.

Some others that could be interesting
Cal @ Stanford
UC Irvine @ San Diego State
Dallas Baptist @ Oklahoma State
LMU @ Long Beach State
Stephen F. Austin @ Houston
Wichita State @ Oral Roberts

TCU wins it 2-0....good road win for the Frogs

In his first start as a collegiate player Andrew Mitchel went 6.2 IP giving up 2 hits, walking 3, and getting 4k.

Stefan Crichton followed him with 2.1 inning of hitless relief with 2ks.

Rice is making a move in the bottom of the 9th, now 12-7, but may be too little too late.

Purke, but I'm biased.

Any of those top 4 or 5 guys are really close, they all bring something a little different to the table though.

Kendall - TCU vs. Fullerton

This is the fourth year of this series and the road team has won the series every year thus far.

I'm hoping that the Frogs can end that trend this weekend, but it will be tough. Fullerton has great fundamentals and doesn't give you a lot of opportunities to put up big innings.

I expect several close and low scoring games between these two clubs.

Hopefully Purke pitches on Sunday, if he doesn't then it will certainly be a lot tougher to win the series. However, Maxwell and Winkler are both Friday caliber starters and would compete for the Friday starting spot on a lot of teams.

Watching the game on the mountain west sports network, looks like another good crowd.

Pharr has had some great plays behind the plate tonight.
