It is nice to see Whitting start off his career at Houston with a win, he will certainly be missed at TCU, but we are certainly happy for him.
Oral Roberts was pretty impressive, like you said, they always seem to play a lot of people tough, they have put together a nice program up there. |

Purke only went 4 inning, but he hadn't pitched all summer or all fall, so they were certainly keeping his pitch count low. They wanted him to stay under 70.
Nice showing by true freshman Andrew Mitchell in his collegiate debut, he pitched two innings, gave up two hits, four 4ks, and gave up 1 run. That is the type of performance a kid can certainly build on.
6099 in the stands last night for the Frogs!!! That beats our attendance record set last season against TAMU by about 1700. |

I certainly agree with St. John's, I think most people expected them to be a top 35 team, but they may be on their way to being a top 20. I think they certainly have the potential to win the Big East.
Houston also looked good this weekend, UTA isn't exactly a powerhouse, but Houston stuck it to them. |

Frustrating game, but a 14 inning, one run loss to a decent Kansas team will not set us back. Heck...we lost to Air Force twice last season.
The good news is that we got good starts from all three weekend starting pitchers, plus we had some real nice performances out of the pen as well. |
