no just poor hitting at that stage in the game you cant really afford to give up outs with sacrafices, you have to trust you hitters to do what they need to do. and as blake said hard to do the squeeze when home is a force out too....

How can USC host over Arkansas at this point?

borgguy

SC also has the benefit of being one year removed from back to back national titles and the fact that they have been in the title game the last three years, these things sometimes play into the committees decision.

now I will admit I have not payed close attention to the SEC being a PAC12 guy but from what little I have seen of Arkansas play and from what you listed, they should totally get a host over SC

at least one team gets hosed every year, this year i think it will be the Hogs, but that will at least make yall a VERY dangerous #2 seed and I would hate to see you in our regional. honestly out of all the #2 seeds (again assuming the comittee gives you the finger) I would say that Arkansas would be the most likely to advance out of whatever regional they are in, and would still be a tough team to take 2 out of 3 from, would not be surprised to see yall in Omaha.

HOST SITES ANNOUNCED

every year there is at least one team with a legitimate chance at a host that doesnt get it, as there are only so many spots available, Im going to guess that Arkansas gets shipped to Louisville, so not TOO far away as a #2 seed and I think could easily advance out of that region as the Cardinals are limping into post season play

so you think that the NCAA will give the ACC 4 national seeds then despite FSU laying a big egg in the tourney?

There should be minimum criteria, or at least a play in type situation like they do it in basketball. Yeah, you won your tournament, but you now have to play a pre regional with 4 like teams that DM stated above. You would gain three at large spots.. for teams that earned it.

and make that pre regional single elimination and for the right to be the #4 seed at the #1 overall seed maybe have it @ that location starting Wednesday, winners play Thursday, regional begins Friday

Yes. Most definitely add some SEC teams. Just not all of them. I'd be okay with just LSU and the hogs.

seconded: in deference to our adopted SEC brethren hogfan4life and LSU_Blake take the 4 pac12 teams and LSU and arkansas

Didn't we do this last year? 0-2, 1-2, 2-2, 3-1, 3-0? Or something like that? Gonna do it this year?

i believe it was 0-2, 1-2, 2-2, 3-0, 3+ which takes 3-2 and 4-1

Ark 3-0 see you in Corvallis next week hogs

asu 1-2 Devils have been choking down the stretch

lsu 3-0 RARELY lose in The Box

ore 3-0 a civil war national

osu 3-0 title bout is still possible

Scar 3+ but Clemson advances

UCLA 3+ UCLA has a habit of losing their own regional, should advance but you never know

is it lined up that way? I doubt both will get in there.

yes it is, the ducks are on the 1/8 4/5 side while the beavs are on the 2/7 3/6 side.

while i know realistically the odds of it happening are slim, but it is still possible. if all goes as expected though, Oregon would face North Carolina in the first round in Omaha, as well as have to deal with Cal State Fullerton and LSU. no easy task. Oregon State on the other hand would have Virginia in the first round, and contend with Florida State and Vanderbilt

yeah when you are a #1 seed and a national seed to boot, it would be foolish to waste your best guy on a team like S dakota st. I think Reed, Thorpe, then Irvin is a good order. even if Reed struggles, I doubt SD State has the ability to keep your bats quiet. so what if he ends up giving up 5, yall should score 8
