OSU 2-1 yeah the beavers got a sweep on the road, and ASU couged it at home, but they are a better club than that, beavs drop one (just hope it isnt sunday, planning on going to that one) but i will gladly lose one point for a beaver sweep UCLA 3-0 cal beat utah, this is in LA Bruins move to 6-0 in conference ORE 2-1 Duckies win but cats avoid the 0-6 start UW 2-1 only cuz it is in seattle Stan 3-0 poor utah, it just doesnt get easier for them does it? WSU 3-0 wait what? cougs sweep? after impressice showing at ASU, maybe they will |

you know you are the third person to give mr a quip about sec 8 being crazy... why are they considered crazy? also it was the only section where they had enough seats together where there was little chance of my wife being hit in the face with a line drive |

For your edification:
The term Section 8 refers to a category of discharge from the United States Military when judged mentally unfit for service. It also came to mean any serviceperson given such a discharge or behaving as if deserving such a discharge, as in the expression, "he's a Section 8". The term comes from Section VIII of the World War I era United States Army Regulation 615-360, which provided for the discharge of those deemed unfit for military service edited by Florida Beaver on 3/21/2013
thanks for the clarification.... that makes sense now |

Even though I picked UCLA to sweep Cal, it is nice to see Cal win. Maybe now Kendall will move the Beavs into at least 4th in the PG poll. Maybe even third seeing as how Vandy has dropped two in a row.
i think it depends, if UCLA still wins the series 2-1 i think the only way the beavs move up is with a sweep, if both go 2-1 then not sure that is enough to drop ucla down a notch yet.... although with Vandy losing then maybe UCLA will stay put and OSU will leapfrog and vandy moves down |

Standings afrer day one: WildCard85 is the leader in the clubhouse but with last weeks champ Opihiman and Dodgermatt and yellowlabOSU breathing right down his neck.... it's another celler battle for rowdy and RD although RD does have the highest lowest possible score so he still can climb back up. let us see what today brings

right now the polls are pointless, they are simply for us fans, and can give some extra weight to big matchups like hey weve got #3 taking on #18 the only thing that matters is where you are on selection monday and if you get to book a ticket to Omaha in June. I remember a few years ago (2008?) that at this point in the season the beavs were #2 then lost like 15 games in a row and ended up missing the tourney. |

IMO that was the least dominating no hitter ever, 4 K 15 fly ball outs, quite a few were well hit balls too, but credit ASU for the scouting report for making sure they had a guy right where the ball was going to be. but a no no is a no no is a no no... taking the wife and kid to tomorrows game, so hope if there is a dominating pitching performance it is the beavs. |

standings after day 2: Wildcard85 holds on to the lead but everyone is within 5 points so it is still anyones game, RiverDuck by playing it safe jumps into the middle of the pack, and Opihiman going for broke falls. Stanford losing today killed ALOT of peoples scores.

two straight games that i have gone to that have had....unique endings. last game I went to was civil war on saturday with conforto making the shoestring catch and throwing the guy out at the plate to end the game. and this one with being caught stealing.
but man, that umpire for whatever reason could not find it in him to give us a called strike three, only one strike out and it came in the 8th inning... always nice when you beat the other team AND the umps |

also does anyone know what ranking they were using for the scores around the country they were showing? i watched and saw #2-14 without break, but no Beavers, which ranking could possibly have us outside the top 15? |

So do each weeks totals get added together or does it start new each week?
it starts anew each week, after a few weeks usually start keeping track of average scores to see how well people are doing. broken up into two groups, those who have participated more than x # weeks and those who have participated less..... or here is an idea i just had, give them a 0 for each week they miss. just a suggestion I leave the decision up to DM since this is his baby |

while i understand the hesitance to drop UCLA behind the beavers given the fact that they started ahead and are yet to have a worse week than the beavs, i still believe osu is better. but time will tell, and eventually we will have the chance to prove that on the diamond.... let us not worry about everyone else, if we keep winning our games, we will eventually move up the rankings. |

ASU 2-1 namely because I want UCLA to drop a couple pegs in the rankings and the pac12 standings WSU 2-1 this is a tough call for me, WSU is playing lights out and stanford isnt. the cardinal are a better team than this, but i am going to go with the hot team for this one Cal 3-0 all the games will be close and all will be like 7-5 Ariz 2-1 the cats have to get back on track against Utah, still think that stanford win was a fluke.
Ore 3-0 Duckies have been finding ways to win games and UW finds ways to lose them Duckies sweep take over sole possesion of first place in the pac-12
OSU 3-0 despite being no hit on saturday and not getting any hits after the 4th inning sunday the beavs were putting the bat on the ball very well, those will start dropping this weekend. |

Well, I don't know what kind of personal affiliation most fans have with their respective teams. I know at least one of our prediction participants was the father of one of the players, for example. So if a particular fan is a relative or friend of someone on the team, and that player has moved on, the fan will probably not be coming back to play predictions. When I was doing this on Rivals, we had two or three Trojan fans, three Cougs, a couple Cats and Bruins, and three for Stanford, plus a whole bunch of Devils (I think more than we had Beavers at one time). But that was before sanctions, which killed their online fan base. Never had a Cal fan. Smelled one once and personally invited him to play, but I think he had a US flag to burn or a nude TGBLT poetry contest to attend...something more important like that. Have yet to see anyone even express sympathy for Utah.
i do have sympathy for Utah, but this is what happens when you decide to try and run with the big dogs, they did get a series win last week so that is stepping up |
