With both AZ teams visiting the state of Oregon this week, I guess it is not too early for you guys to start your trash talking and get it out of your systems. blah All of you against Rowdy, Caught by Sparky & myself.

RD: be careful, as a Duck hunter, singles are easy pickin's & more often than not end up on the dinner table.

Trash talk? We'll let Boyd's, Moore's, Wetzlers' and Childs' arms, Conforto's, Davis', Rodriguez's and Smith's bats and our awesome bullpen do all the trash talking needed on the field. No reason for us to open a wound, rub salt in it and then smack ya in the face with a beaver tail.

Beavs take 2 of 3 or sweep. Looking like an average year for the Devils.

There are going to be some angry AZ teams in Oregon this week. Both very good and sporting a not so good combined 1-5 record. Oregon teams are looking good at 5-1. All I can hope for is some cold wet weather. Give those AZ boys a wake up call.

Eugene would be the wrong place to go...in Eugene you can find flukey baseball, whiners, a plethera of bunts, poor base running, batters leaning into pitches, a team purposefully delaying the game, and a team that bats like a Girls Under 10 Softball team.

ASU74, thanks for starting this thread. I'm trying to develop some antagonism against the AZ schools, but I am really feeling some love for the Wildcats, especially after the Greek loving we gave to them last weekend. It sounds like you, Caught by Sparky, and Rowdy have some kind of special love going on down South. That's okay, I make no judgment, I'm very much a Libertarian. There are only two teams I could never root for -- Oregon and Washington. I despise everything about these teams and the cities where they hang their hat.

Get your St. Pauli Girl out. Have some fun and enjoy the weekend.

Beavs: I thought you guys were just gonna dump on us AZ guys. I guess you all have so much animosity pointed at the Ducks, everyone else gets a free pass. Well fought series. Next year Beavs come to the Valley of the Sun. I'll be there. Come on & visit.
Ducks: Nice sweep.

Beavs:
I was thinking about jumping all over the #2 team in the country dropping even 1 game to unranked San Diego, but it seems you guys are doing a good job of self-flagellation.

And Ophi was complaining about bunts, delay of game, etc etc. All I saw was a massive shot to left center by Healy, who is eclipsing conforto as the masher in this league. Walk off.. Payback from the 10 loss in their yard. I was so pissed about that game, I still remember it. Ducks just got their 20th win, and their rpi has dropped from 83 to 17, including two series losses. Does not hurt that those two losses are rpi top ten teams. Will not hurt the ducks at all IMO, or not as bad, as say losing one series to a bad team like San Diego. Trap series.. a team who has not played well, but is hot right now with a not so good record. Baseball is a strange sport.

The Beavs loss yesterday barely affected RPI/ISR...still #1, they win the next 2 and what looked like a disaster magically becomes a good weekend!

Yeah, as long as they win the series. Which they should considering how close the game was, and how poorly the defense performed. I bet Casey is earning his money right now. He should get them back to where they need to be.

Well, you could say that thursdays starter is really their midweek guy. They have not played alot of midweek games, and it is probably necessary to keep Child active. I don't see him as a mid reliever.. Kind of a tuesday guy if you ask me. Friday's starter should shut down those announcers tonight.

One smart Beaver:

One of the most interesting recent casino victories shows that the game gets played before you even step through the casino doors. Don Johnson won nearly $6 million from the Tropicana in Atlantic City in one night, and has taken other casinos for multi-million hauls, all playing blackjack. His total haul: $17 million. And his secret? Calculating odds and changing the rules. Because he puts up so much cash at the tables, casinos were willing to indulge him with cash rebates on losing rounds, the right to split and double down up to four times, and the soft 17 rule. His keen mathematical mind figured in all of these changes and calculated they put him at a very slight statistical advantage, assuming he played “perfectly”. He’s unsurprisingly banned from just about every casino in America now.
