Could be early season pitch counts. Who knows.

When Wetzler comes back, and the way Moore is pitching, I would be very tempted to put Child's big arm in the Pen.

Weez, I agree (on Childs). I think he's very consistent, but he could be our number four starter the way the others are throwing right now.

So here's a parag from the OSU website on today's game:

The win sends the Beavers to a 7-0 record for the first time since the 2007 season and third time under head coach Pat Casey - the first came in 2004. In going for the sweep Sunday at noon, Oregon State has a chance to be 8-0 for the first time since 1962. That club went 18-0 to begin the season en route to a 26-6 record and a berth in the NCAA Western Regional in Santa Clara, Calif.

And another from yesterday:

A win Saturday by the Beavers would push Oregon State to 7-0 for the first time since the 2007 season. The Beavers have reached that mark just 11 times in the team's history. Pat Casey's clubs have done it twice, accomplishing the feat first in 2004.

Sounds like 18-0, then 7-0 tied twelve times. A win tomorrow would make this the outright second-best start ever, according to my interpretation of these two statements. What would it take to win 18 or 19 to start the season?

If we win all those nonconference games listed above, that would put us at 18-0. We'd have to then beat Arizona in Tucson to beat that record.

Doesn't matter who you are playing...winning 18 in a row (and we have 11 to go) is extremely extremely difficult. Especially when on any given day LMU can beat Oregon (jab, jab, low blow)...
