UCF should have the hitting to make it to and hopefully win a Regional this season. Pitching is a question but there are a number of talented young arms. Your thoughts on UCF's pitching? Hearing anything positive/negative after opening weekend?

Hey kendall, you do great work first off. I have always found you very insightful. My question for you is how close, in terms of talent and overall winning capacity (experience, intangibles, coaching, etc), are Florida, Standford, and South Carolina.

You hit the nail on the head with Central Florida. The Golden Knights certainly will hit with consistency throughout the season, but again, the key is the pitching. I thought Ben Lively and others pitched well over the weekend. They need to keep that up as the season progresses. If they do, watch out, as UCF could be very very nasty.

That's a really good question and one that doesn't really have an easy answer. I'll say this. I think Florida has the total package of experience, want and talent. I think Stanford probably has the most overall upside, and I think South Carolina has the talent, not quite the experience (offensively) but the want and mojo.

Should be interesting to see how the season progresses.

BC,
Tremendous question. You're absolutely right, what happens on the field DOES matter. So, if BC and Maryland can establish consistency they will enter the rankings. If UCLA and Virginia don't have consistency, they'll drop out of the rankings. I try not to jump to conclusions after the first weekend, as anything can pretty much happen.

After watching Oregon, I have to say I am impressed. The bows giving up 3 at home is uncharacteristic.
I guess ranking them will have to happen after the vandy series. Altobelli was 8-12 his last two games. Crazy.

I know its a few weekends off but who do you like in the rematch of last years CWS championship series? A hungry Florida team or a USC club that always has something to prove to its doubters at home? Do you think florida will be out for revenge, especially since USC received their championship rings during the USC v Florida football game in Columbia during the fall.

3-Peat!!!
