Austin Peay (Let's Go, Peay!) is an out away from upsetting GTech.

Okay, Austin Peays on the Yellow Jackets.
St. John beats East Carolina.
Dallas Baptist beat Oklahoma.
Charlotte beat Arkansas.

And Old UALR is up on Oregon State 4-0 in the 5th

USF's Kyle Zimmer has limited UCLA to 3 hits in 8-plus innings. Another upset in the making.

And theres your upset. UCLA loses 3-0. Typical Friday night in Westwood. No bats.
Fresno/UCLA Elimination game anyone?

Wow, I should have waited ten seconds.... Joey DeMichele, the Devil Bomber, connects for a one-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the 9th to come from behind 2-1 to beat UNM 4-2 and snatch an upset from the jaws of defeat. Amazing. Sorry loss for the Lobos.

Bethune-Cupcake nearly beat Florida State, who broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the 8th to win 6-5.
And I also consider Arizona losing to Seton Hall 4-0 a upset.

Which was the worst upset?

Is there even a question here? GT losing to AP

I have to agree here. Either that or Dallas Baptist.

Austin Peay over Georgia Tech would only qualify as an upset in February or March. The fact that the game was played in June and Danny Hall is still coaching the Yellow Jackets tells you that there is no such thing as an upset.

I've said it 100 times before. Nobody in the game of college baseball has ever done less with more than Danny Hall at Georgia Tech. He proves it year in and year out.

I wonder which of us started using that line first...

On a side note, I've started calling UCLA the west coast version of GT.

Hall really started to get that rattled "oh (expletive)....here we go again!" look last night. I wonder how long that coaching staff sat in the locker room staring at the wall after that defeat...

Since I don't see any of the usual GT fans here sticking up for him, I'm going to come to the aid of ACC Coach-of-the-Year Candidate Danny Hall; that is, as soon as I can come up with the right descriptive word or phrase for last night's performance...

Let's see, could it be "more of the same?" No, that's already been used here...and is pretty shop-worn, anyway.

Could it be, "How with all of that talent?" No, that's pretty shop-worn, too.

Could it be, "phenomenal?" No, that's already been taken by another ACC Coach who was overlooked.

Let's see...

I've got it!!!

DANG IMPRESSIVE!!!!

The biggest upset has to be Austin Peay over Georgia Tech. Not only did AP win the game, but they got away with holding back their ace.

Three more upsets today, all in the Lone Star State.
  • Kent State from the lowly MAC upends national #7 Texas, 7-5. (Someone accused another poster here a couple days ago of having no credibility for picking Kent Sate as his dark horse to upset a national seed. Hmmm....)
  • Baylor defeats national #8 Rice, 3-2.
  • Independent Dallas Baptist beat host TCU, 3-2.

You mean UCLA that went to the CWS title game last year?

Texas hits a walk-off bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 9th to avoid a second consecutive upset, defeating Texas State 4-3.
